Country Roads
Country roads, take me home! After four years of service in Budapest, Hungary, our family is spending six months back in America for our home ministry assignment and totalization. Being away from Budapest and back in America for such an extended visit presents some interesting experiences and challenges.
Two of our children are now in college; our oldest is a sophomore, and our middle child is a freshman. It's been nice being close by to our middle child as he adjusts back to living in America and experiences college life for the first time. Our youngest daughter is having her own unique experience—she's doing online high school while traveling with us to all of our fundraising appointments. She misses her friends at her school in Hungary.

In Budapest, we live in the heart of the city. While we're back, our home base is in rural West Virginia. Although we truly enjoy city living, it's been refreshing to reconnect with our Appalachian roots. Sometimes, city life can be distracting; there's always something happening in Budapest. Slowing down and reflecting on the last four years in this quiet, comfortable place that we call home has been wonderful.
Most of our time during this home ministry assignment has been spent meeting with supporters and churches. We're doing our very best to keep up with our ministry projects and work responsibilities. However, we're making time to rest and reflect. Reflecting on the last four years brings back memories of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the ups and downs of living in a different country and culture. Processing our first term brings forth a lot of emotions, memories, and revelations. One consistent thread through the ups and downs of our missionary life is the faithfulness of God. From our family situation to our finances, God provided every time we needed Him.
As we continue to process the past and plan for the future, it's comforting to know that God is with us and providing for the ministry He has called us to do. We ask that you pray for us to be able to rest and enjoy the holiday season with our family. Additionally, please pray for God's wisdom in planning our next five-year term.
